Réjane Boisseau was born in Montreal, third in a family 9 children. She remembers having a drawing lesson when she was about 12 during which she experimented with pastels, mixing the colours with her fingers.
She remembers the exciting experience and the desire to learn more.
When she started to work, her first savings were used to pay for art lessons of all kinds,
At that time, one could study commercial art or take courses at Beaux Arts, but other painting lessons were hard to find, so she sought out other ways to be creative.
Throughout her marriage and raising four children, Réjean continued taking art classes.
Her family moved to Dollard des Ormeaux in 1980.
In 1985, she was finally able to start her first lesson in oil painting. The following year, she found her favourite medium in watercolours.
Museum visits, local exhibitions and art conferences still appeal to her.
