While in Scotland four years ago, I saw an article in Sunday Papers on Encaustic Art. People were doing mainly cards and selling them at shows. I pursued and finally managed to get in touch with a supplier. I started doing cards and giving them to friends and relatives, until an artist friend suggested we frame and exhibit them. We returned in a week to find that all four postcards were sold. Wonderful surprise!
On my return to Canada I left several with friends who sold them to raise money for the church.
I joined the Kirkland Artists'Association. I mainly sold prints.
Last year I joined the Beaconsfield Artists' Association and in June was fortunate to sell a full size piece.
I returned to Scotland this past summer and took further instruction on my medium.
I have given several demos to small groups which I enjoyed.
