Roger was born in Lachine, Quebec but spent his adolescent and young adult
years in the scenic town of Ste Anne de Bellevue.
In order to contribute to his family's finances, Roger left school at a
young age to work with his father, a painter - decorator. This turned out to
be a blessing in disguise as it was during this period Roger learned the
basics of colour mixing. This led to his start in oil painting, an on and
off pastime for many years.
Much later in life Roger discovered watercolour. As his passion for this
media intensified Roger sought to improve on his abilities and studied with
such notable watercolourists as Helmut Gerth, Jacques Hebert and Peter Law,
formally of Hong Kong.
Roger has been the recipient of awards on two seperate occasions at the
Pierrefonds Art Contest and this year (2002) won the Artist Choice Award at
the 150th Anniversay of the Mount Royal Cemetery art contest.
Many of Roger's watercolour paintings are in private collections locally as
well as Vancouver, Ottawa and San Diego.
Roger is a member of a number of Artist groups such as The West Island
Artist Circle, The Senior Watercolour Group, The Plein Air Group and The
Beaconsfield Artist Association
