I have experimented with other media, but watercolor remains my favourite. The wet-into-wet method yields such
spontaneous results that it is often difficult to predict what the final result will be.
This element of suprise keeps each work exciting and fresh, right to the last brush stroke.
Although I have received most of my formal lessons in landscape painting, my favourite subjects are small
creatures set against a natural background.
I like to think that my
paintings allow the viewer to get closer to nature, to a peaceful place far away from it all.
Recently, I have been attempting larger and increasingly more difficult works, and with each one I realize how much there is to learn, especially about light and shadow.
