The medium I prefer is watercolour. In the early 1980's I had the privilege of having as my neighbour the late Signe Green of Fort Francis Ontario. I had the occasion to visit her home studio many times. As a result I developed a keen interest in watercolour painting. Subsequently I attended a workshop given by Jim West of International Falls, Minnesota, which was just ten minutes away.
In 1985, I moved tom Montreal and joined the Beaconsfield Artists' Association and proceeded with workshops lead by Louise Seekings. It was a distinct pleasure to spend time with Louise. She taught me a great deal; especially how to relax and enjoy the medium. We attended several workshops together which were most enlightening, namely those offered by Milford Zorn, Frank Webb and Barbara Nechus.
From 1992 to 2000 I spent winters in Florida at which time I attended art classes weekly. I was fortunate to receive instruction from three very qualified watercolour artists. While there I entered the spring art shows held in our community and was pleased and fortunate to sell many pieces of work.
I have recently joined the Kirkland Artists Association as well am enjoying my association with both groups and appreciate the opportunity to meet with other artists and to display my work.
