The sea cradled her youth and its vastness enchanted her. It’s no wonder that she now « builds her castles » with paint and water. When she finds herself alone in her studio, surrounded by her brushes and paint tubes, intoxicated by the smell of wet watercolour paper, she truly feels she is the master of her voyage, aboard her own vessel. Being conscious of this power means opening one ’s self to creativity, « wanting » without ever being fulfilled, living the « vastness » and the freedom.

What attracted her to watercolours was its luminous beauty, its degree of risk, its spontaneous character; in acrylics, it was the energy, the power of the jet on paper or canvas. These two mediums are a constant source of enchantment that will always challenge her inner spirit, requiring her to go from “letting go”to” affirming her will”.

Her themes are still quite varied and her style is a mix of realism and abstraction, with a touch of fantasy: trees, rocks, water, quaint houses, bird houses, dolls, animals, boats and churches.

She was born in Grande Rivière, in Gaspésie. She discovered watercolours on a trip to France. As a teenager, she participated in visual art exhibits. After her university studies, she experimented with the theatre, stained glass and sculptures made with river rocks taken from the coast of Gaspésie. She has been learning watercolours since 1997, in France and in Quebec, and has taken up acrylics with Louise Lachance Legault. She has been in five group shows and one solo show in the Valleyfield area and in Montreal.
