I always liked drawing. At school it was what I preferred.
Later when I was in college, I had pleaseure drawing the portraits of my companions and teachers. I was dreaming to be able to study at l'Ecole des Beaux Arts. During my very first years of teaching, I was able to realize that dream and I attended a charcoal drawing course.
In the 1970's, I took lessons from Mrs. Louise Seekings in oil painting.
Then I was attracted to watercolour painting. Mr. Helmut Gerth was my teacher for three years. I also worked with Pierette Labonté. The longest period was with the well-known Jacques Hébert. A good friend of mine helped a lot by criticizing my work.
Watercolour painting is very demanding and does not forgive mistakes but provides agreeable and rewarding suprises.
