Denise Paquette has lived in world of music and art. It is not surprising that once retired from a career as a high school teacher of instrumental music, in Alberta, Ontario and Quebec, a desire to paint manifested itself. Surrounded by nature, her dear birds, small animals and her garden of magnificent flowers in St Lazare, seasonal change of colours paint her soul. While she paints in her studio, nothing exists but her concentration on the application of colours. Then she begins to realise that watercolour or acrylic and her, are partners dancing together.
She would lead by beginning the painting but soon the paint, paper and water would have their say and give her something excitingly unexpected. Now it is up to her to explore and celebrate it by contemplating it day after day until it talks to her.
Denise is a colourist, and is now aiming towards more abstract and semi abstract in her work.
