Born in Sayabec, Quebec, Gysèle started drawing at a very early age. A graduate dietitian, Gysèle took her first oil painting lessons while at Laval University in Quebec City.
In 1993 she started watercolor and studied under well-known teachers. She continued to attend workshops in experimental media. During the past few years, Gysèle added acrylic, mixed-media, ink and collage to her repertoire. Her intuitive process gives her the opportunity to stimulate the sensibility of the viewer, while satisfying her own creative needs.
Gysèle has had many solo exhibitions and participates every year in group exhibitions. She has won the People’s Choice Award and Honourable Mentions many times.
Her paintings can be seen in Art Centres in Montreal, the West Island, and private collections in the US, England, France and Greece.
Gysèle is always looking for transparence, light and colors that will express what she sees and feels. Painting is for her a joy, a passion, and a dream.
