I studied fine arts in Toronto and Kingston, Ontario before coming to Montreal to complete a Masters degree in Canadian Art History at Concordia University. Presently I am working as an archivist / researcher at the Canadian Centre for Architecture.
Because I am a low-vision artist, I begin with photographs I have taken that suggest an idea for a picture. I then develop the composition using enlarged photocopies revised by drawing with the help of visual aids. Working with acrylic on board, my paintings are usually genre scenes or landscapes, often executed with various 20th-century artist’s in mind.
I have exhibited work in group shows at the Agnes Etherington Art Gallery, Kingston, and with the Kingston Artists’ Association. I had a solo exhibition of paintings at the Kirkland Public Library in June 2004, and will have a solo show at the Beaconsfield Library in January 2005.
